I called Papa last night to wish him a happy belated Easter. I ended up catching them while they were on their way home from Chuckie Cheese's. There were a couple of times times in the conversation that I almost burst out into tears (good ones mind you). The first time was when Nicky piped up and said, "You called on the perfect night. Tonight is family night, and now it's complete because you called." Jessie is in theater club in her school, and is also doing another play for something else. I wasn't familiar with the plays, but she's really excited about them. I wish I could go see them. When the conversation was winding down, Drake wanted to talk to me again. He hadn't really said much to me the first time on the phone, because he doesn't really know me. They show him pictures all the time, but because he's only 4, it doesn't quite sink in. I haven't seen him since he was 3 months old. But anyways, he gets back on the phone, says "hi," and then, to Papa and Nicky, asks, "Can I say I love you?" Papa, Nicky, and Jessie all say "Yes" at the same time, and he says "I love you Tansy." That just made me so happy. I miss them all very much.

I'm looking forward to seeing Papa the first weekend in May. He's going to be flying out to go to the race up in Richmond, but he's flying into the Raleigh/Durham airport so he can see me. I can't wait for it.

Well, it's been nearly a month since I've posted, but it's been a busy one. Because I work in a sports bar, March is an exceptionally crazy month. Especially down her in Duke/UNC country. So I've pretty much just been working.

Last week someone slashed one of my tired while I was working. I filed a police report, but they told me that it's most likely that nothing will come of it unless they catch someone in the act. It's frustrating because I just went down to South Carolina not too long ago to get new tires. But, there isn't really anything else I can do, and no one else's tires got slashed. So I guess I just move on.

David and I got Rock Band 2 with his best friend yesterday. It's a lot of fun. The drums aren't quite as crazy hard as I expected. Which is good. It means its fun. But I can't think of anything else to say, so I guess I'll come back later.

Gah, I seem to be bad at keeping up with this. Anyways...

I have gotten a new job. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I work at a sports bar called Satisfaction. I'm a hostess, which means that I run food to tables and bus them. One of the things that makes me love it is the wait staff actually thanks me for things, like when I bring food to the tables, and bus them. So I guess what I love is that I'm actually appreciated. Everyone is awesome and nice. And the owner isn't overbearing like at NOSH. He just wanders around and asks if anyone needs help. He also will jump in if he sees you are overwhelmed. I've also been going to school on Tuesdays for the gaming club meetings. That's been lots of fun.

David and I have also started planning for the wedding. I'm pretty excited. We don't have an exact date yet, but we are planning for mid July, 2012. Hoping for the 14th or the 21st. I know, more than 3 years away, but we want to make sure we save up for it, and that I have at least my associate's in accounting. Besides, the place that David has his heart set on for pictures apparently has a 1 1/2 - 2 year waiting list (at least according to David).

I went and saw my mom a little while back. I wasn't out for very long, but I always enjoy going out there. We had yummy Indian food. It was great.

Well, I should try and to something productive before I go back into work.

An actual update

Ok, so I see I haven't really updated people on what's going on with me. I am in the process of looking for a new job, which is going really slowly right now. Nobody seems to be hiring at the moment, with the holiday shopping being over. But, I'm still looking and applying. I'm not in school this semester, which makes me sad. But I couldn't afford it, so I'll be going back in the fall. I got my unemployment debit card yesterday, which meanst things aren't looking quite as bad as they had. I'm going to try to figure out when I'm going to get my W2 from my last job, because it closed down and I can't exactly go and pick it up there. I wonder if calls to Canada are included in my cell phone plan... because Symposium is a Canadian chain, and that's where payroll was done.

I actually have pictures! let's see if i can do this...

This is Amiris, Caroline and I. The gaming club had a party, and here's a picture. Amiris and I are holding Yugioh cards, and Caroline is playing Harvest Moon on her Nintendo DS. I had quite a bit of fun at the party. There was a lot of playing video games, and spoons. I forgot how much I like to play spoons.

Baby shower. Yes, she is feeding me baby food blindfolded. The point of it was to see who could finish the jar first.

I was holding the top of the pumpkin they had just carved. This was a school event, for a contest between community colleges. We got first place!

Ok... I hope these turn out O.K. when I post them...

Alright, so yet another long time before an update, but hey, at least I get on occasionally, right? Anyways, looking forward to having 9 days off of work. I'm going to be going to see quite a few people, and I'm excited about that. Tonight I'm going to the Costco Christmas party. It's going to be fun. I'll have to see if someone we know is there and has a camera. Other than that, nothing much has really been going on with me.

Well, I haven't kept up with this as well as I'd hoped, but I still am keeping up with it.

I had a pretty good thanksgiving. Spent it with David, his sister (Rachel), his mom (Vicky), and his mom's boyfriend (Ron). I baked a cake for it, which is awesome, especially because our oven likes to burn stuff. Rachel commented on how good it was, then remembered about the oven, and said it was amazing considering the circumstances. It made me happy, because she bakes quite a bit.

Work has been pretty slow, although it's started to pick up now that the Durham Performance Art Center opened up across the street. Last night (Sunday night) BB King played there for the first performance. Apparently they got swamped. Hopefully the GM will start scheduling people wisely. Because even though I made good money tonight, I am tired beyond belief. It shouldn't be possible to make $550 in sales in 5 hours with most of the checks coming to $20. Oh well. I get to talk to my manager tomorrow about making the day shift do silverware, because we ran out by the end of the night. We were also out of most of our wines. All in all, not fun. Oh well.

I'm excited that I have furniture now. Well, more furniture. David's dad (Peter) gave us some. So now we have another couch, a dining room table, a couple of folding chairs, a bedside table, and an actual bed. I also have my stuff that was in Peter's attic. I want to get a bookcase at some point so that I can display my porcelain dolls.

I should be getting to bed at some point in the near future. I will have pictures eventually. I just have no way to take them.
