The NC State Fair

Today I went to the NC State Fair for the first time, and had a blast! David and I rode the bus out there, and immediately started having a good time. Within the first half hour, David won me this awesome fake rose. It's pretty cool. We wandered around, had some hot cider, looked at cool things, and had a good time. I went on my first Gravatron ride. It was a little scary, but still awesome. Mostly David and I wandered around and looked at stuff. We watched the blacksmithing for a while, which was cool. We also rode on the ferris wheel at sunset. It was gorgeous. Then we went and rode the bus back home, and are chillin'. So a wonderful day all together.

been a while, but exciting time, somewhat

Well, I got a 94 on my first microeconomics test. So I'm pretty happy about that. I'm still not sure what I got on my first actually graded speech. My teacher said she was going to put it up over the break so that the people who went on the last day didn't have to wait until this Tuesday to find out, but she hasn't. So I'm anxiously waiting. I've been working pretty hard at work and school both. But I think it's going well. I'm going to be going to the NC State Fair for the first time tomorrow. I'm pretty excited. I got someone at work to switch with me and everything. My financial aid money came in this week. I think David and I are going to be getting a new computer because we are actually pretty surprised his hasn't died already. Well, I must be heading off to work, but I'll try and keep updated.

New Internet

Well, David and I just got new internet today. We were fed up with the stuff that we got with the apartment, so we went ahead and got some Time Warner. It's already working faster, and David's been able to play online games with people. So eventually when we get a better computer (hopefully soon with the financial aid money), WoW will work better. But I'm happy about it.

Wow, 5 months...

I can't believe I haven't posted in five months... I feel bad about that... Quite a bit has happened since then. My car is broken, and I'm in the process of trying to get that fixed. I saw Papa for the first time in about a 4 1/2 years this past May. I went to my Aunt Penny's wedding. I started school back up, and I've been working like crazy. David and I had our 5 years together on the 15th. We didn't really make a big deal out of it, but it is super exciting. David and I have played through Halo 1,2, and 3, and are in the process of playing through Halo 3: ODST right now. I've been doing well in my classes so far, and am about to start the 4th class for the semester. I'm pretty excited for this semester of the gaming club. I'm still the treasurer. I'm thinking of running for President either next semester or next year. That'll be pretty exciting.
Other exciting news: Nicky's pregnant, meaning I'm going to have another sibling! Hoo Rah!
I'm also heading out to California this Christmas to visit with them. I haven't seen Nicky, Jessie, or Drake in 5 years this Christmas, so I'm looking forward to it. David wasn't able to come because Costco doesn't let employees off between Thanksgiving and Christmas. But we plan on trying to get out there next July so David can meet that part of my family.

Well, that's about all I can think of.

Goodness... It is way to hot in my apartment... It's sitting at about 88 degrees, and that's after it cooled down last night. When I got home it was at about 95, and when I went to bed it was about 90. Yes, we've called the office downstairs, but it was done last night and we don't know when they'll get to us. I'm pretty tired of it. Our A/C works for about a week every time they fix it, and the weather gets cooler, so we don't need it. Then it doesn't kick back in or something. It's pretty annoying. *shrugs* At least it's cooler at work, even in the kitchen.

I called Papa last night to wish him a happy belated Easter. I ended up catching them while they were on their way home from Chuckie Cheese's. There were a couple of times times in the conversation that I almost burst out into tears (good ones mind you). The first time was when Nicky piped up and said, "You called on the perfect night. Tonight is family night, and now it's complete because you called." Jessie is in theater club in her school, and is also doing another play for something else. I wasn't familiar with the plays, but she's really excited about them. I wish I could go see them. When the conversation was winding down, Drake wanted to talk to me again. He hadn't really said much to me the first time on the phone, because he doesn't really know me. They show him pictures all the time, but because he's only 4, it doesn't quite sink in. I haven't seen him since he was 3 months old. But anyways, he gets back on the phone, says "hi," and then, to Papa and Nicky, asks, "Can I say I love you?" Papa, Nicky, and Jessie all say "Yes" at the same time, and he says "I love you Tansy." That just made me so happy. I miss them all very much.

I'm looking forward to seeing Papa the first weekend in May. He's going to be flying out to go to the race up in Richmond, but he's flying into the Raleigh/Durham airport so he can see me. I can't wait for it.

Well, it's been nearly a month since I've posted, but it's been a busy one. Because I work in a sports bar, March is an exceptionally crazy month. Especially down her in Duke/UNC country. So I've pretty much just been working.

Last week someone slashed one of my tired while I was working. I filed a police report, but they told me that it's most likely that nothing will come of it unless they catch someone in the act. It's frustrating because I just went down to South Carolina not too long ago to get new tires. But, there isn't really anything else I can do, and no one else's tires got slashed. So I guess I just move on.

David and I got Rock Band 2 with his best friend yesterday. It's a lot of fun. The drums aren't quite as crazy hard as I expected. Which is good. It means its fun. But I can't think of anything else to say, so I guess I'll come back later.
